The following story is that of Prithika Praba Madhavan.
Prithika was born and brought up in the patriarchal society of Indonesia.
In fact, none of the women in her family had been formally educated beyond a high school degree.
Prithika is on the right
Her mother was fortunate enough to marry a man who encouraged her dreams of pursuing a career after marriage.
Her parents thankfully educated her to be the first woman with a college degree in her family.
When it came time to apply for college, together with her mother; she had watched “The Secret” video on YouTube.
They wrote on a notecard that she would gain admission into Parsons School of Design.
Persistence is key
After 3 months of looking at the notecard every day, she received an unconditional acceptance to attend the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York.
Persistence pays off – this is the Law of systematic Assumption.
As Neville Goddard says “assumptions harden into facts“.
Unfortunately, Prithika’s Mother passed away one month after she began college. Yet, as a tribute to her Mother, she decided to create another notecard in which she wrote that she would:
– Graduate as Valedictorian.
– Summa Cum Laude honors.
– Be on the Dean’s List for every semester.
– Give the Commencement Speech.
Daily habits pay off
When Prithika was writing on her notecard, she thought it would be almost impossible to achieve any of the items on her list. This, considering the depression that she had fallen into after her Mother’s passing.
However, after looking at the notecard every day for 3 years, her wish came true.
She graduated at the top of the class as the Valedictorian with Summa Cum Laude honors, and Dean’s List recognition for all 6 semesters.
She even gave the Commencement Speech in May 2014 to an audience of 6,000 people at Madison Square Garden:
